Greek Australian Buys 300 Lambs for Poor Families in Kalymnos for Easter

Greek Australian entrepreneur Giannis Halikos, has purchased 300 lambs for yet another year which will be donated to poor families across Kalymnos for Greek Orthodox Easter this year on Sunday, April 16. John does this for those in need every year and is a true embodiment of filotimo. Halikos sent many wishes and love from his hometown of Darwin, Australia.

The Greek Australian never forgets his homeland Kalymnos, especially around Pascha. Giannis has made sure that poor families on the island will be able to celebrate Greek Orthodox Easter with traditional lamb on the spit for Sunday, April 16. According to kalymnos-news.gr, Mr Halikos has bought over 300 lambs from a local butcher, which will be distributed directly to nursing homes and to homes where people can not afford to buy meat and other food to celebrate Easter, with a big feast. Bravo to John Halikos. A true example of filotimo and generosity.

Giannis Halikos’ offer, especially over the Easter holidays, is a small token of sincere love and support to his fellow countrymen, who are in desperate need and whom he never forgets. Lambs and goats will be given to the Kalymnos Camp to cover the needs of the camp regarding the festive atmosphere of the day.

Giannis sends his best wishes for a Happy Easter full of health and optimism, and hopes that we will all be reunited soon on our favourite island of Kalymnos.
