The young man Yiannis is serving in the military at the Greek-Turkish border along the Evros river. When serving in the army, Yiannis discovers himself going through a significant transformation from a once carefree person. However, his service is not the only thing that has changed. When a baby is delivered to his door and he is identified as the father, he discovers that living without consequences has come back to haunt him. When Yiannis’ babysitting abilities get worse, he struggles to raise the child and also finds himself crossing into Turkish territory.This parenthood comedy came from director George Kordellas (Roza of Smyrna) and was co-written by Dimitris Apostolou (I tourta tis mamas). The cast includes Ian Stratis, Maria Konstadaki, and Gerasimos Gennatas.

This movie is based on the personal memoirs Yanis Varoufakis, ‘Adults in the Room’ relives the chaotic economic and political situation in Greece during the near-bankruptcy days of Greece in 2015.

Yannis Drakopoulos, who starred in the brilliant Greek movie ‘Chevalier’, plays a man who is addicted to sadness. In fact, the only way for him to feel good, is to feel dreadful. ‘Pity’ is another delightful product of the so-called ‘Weird Greek Wave’.

  1. Thank you for the suggestions! Sadly, none of the Greek films referenced in the Netflix listings by GG are available to be streamed in the United States. I think you need to redirect this posting to residents outside of the USA or state that for American citizens that these films are not available.

    What a bummer to search in Netflix and have none of the films pop up! Sas euxaristo!
