What happens when you blend Mamma Mia and My Big Fat Greek Wedding? You get ‘Love’s Greek to Me”. This new Hallmark channel romantic comedy plot is full of comedy and beautiful Santorini scenery. Ilana, an archaeology professor played by Torrey DeVitto (Chicago Med) is prepping for a 10-day trip to the beautiful Greek island of Santorini with her boyfriend Mike (Yannis Tsimitselis, star of the Greek series Ela sti thesi mou or Come to My Place ). Mike’s younger sister is getting married, and of course Ilana makes a few My Big Fat Greek Wedding jokes. She can’t help it, she’s super excited! Upon arriving in Greece, Mike’s sister Alex (Katerina Konstas) asks Ilana to essentially fill in for her maid of honour and has to spend even more time with Mike’s overbearing and traditional mom Athena (Marina Sirtis — Deanna Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard!).
Mike surprises Ilana on day two of their trip by purposing to her. Now, Athena is planning two weddings. Ignoring everything Mike and Ilana want for themselves. Will Mike and Ilana have any say in their future? Will Ilana’s free-spirited American mentality inspire Alex to go against Greek family traditions? Athena even starts to name Ilana’s unborn babies.
